Fitch Ratings is one of the three largest internationally operating full-service rating agencies, and its activities include the analysis of countries, insurance companies, banks, businesses and securitisation transactions. The company employs around 1,800 people at 50 locations worldwide, and is represented in Frankfurt by its subsidiary, Fitch Deutschland GmbH. The majority shareholder of the Fitch group is the listed company, Fimalac S.A., in Paris. Its head offices are located in London and New York. The agency has maintained an office in Frankfurt am Main since 1999, and employs 40 people there. The roots of the company go all the way back to 1913. It was Fitch who developed the common rating scale using the symbols AAA to D.

The mainBuilding is situated on a 16,300 square metre site in the Taunusanlage, directly opposite the Old Opera in Frankfurt/M. In the top location of the financial metropolis, the 7 storey, comb-like construction offers around 32,000 square metres high quality office space which is leased primarily to well known banks and financial service companies. Allianz has invested around 235 million euros in the project and has carefully integrated listed building substance into the new building concept.
